Patricia Well's new cookbook

"Cooking in Provence." Not only are the recipes fairly simple but she gives wonderful quotes and where to shop for pottery, olive oil, and where to eat. I'm predudice as I met her twice, I'm a big fan, and her choices of where to eat and her favorite olive oil are mine.

When she went to Pius XI High School in Milwaukee, WI - she was Pat - nobody called her Patricia.

Scarlett the Bistro cookbook is an earlier book that came out in '89.
I like her " At home in Provence"
and "The Paris Cookbook."

Would that be Ham and Corny??

Thanks Mimi, I love The Paris Cookbook although it would be enjoyed more if I were actually cooking IN Paris or at least eating there~

I worship her Bistro book -- my paperback copy is covered in olive oil, flour and other interesting relics of frequent use.

The best cookbooks are the ones with all the little oil and sauce stains!
I have to get that Bistro book.

There are currently 2 of the Bistro books available on half.com. (No mention of the amount of oil and sauce stains on them, if any)

For anyone in the DC area who does not know about this, Patricia Wells is hosting a dinner at the Madison Hotel at 6:30pm on April 27, 2004. This to do is sponsored by the Smithsonian Resident Associates and is $95 if you belong to the Resident Associates.

Yes, I'm signed up! I will come back with a food report after the to do.

You're welcome, Scarlett. In case anyone is interested here is Patricia Wells' book tour schedule for 2004 (book signings, appearances, etc) in association with the new Provence book.

http://www.patriciawells.com/home/events.htm

(If you get a signed copy, try not to slop anything on it - it may reduce the potential future value)
