Patricia Wells
Does anybody have any feedback on Patricia Wells' guide to Paris restaurants?
|
Yes - it's very good, and can be counted on for some fine choices! I've been to a number of the restaurants and would go back to almost all of them.<BR>Best wishes.

It's just plain good reading even if you don't use the restaurants. Her food dictionary helps greatly in knowing what you are ordering.
|
She is very reliable - I would never hesitate to eat any place she recommended. I have a friend who offers a full refund on the purchase of the book if the purchaser eats a bad meal in one of the recommended restaurants or shops.

I posted here and someone recommeneded it. It's very, very, good! Someone also recommeneded the Timeout Food and Dining guide to Paris to provide a full range of options -- more on the low cost, fun side. THe two together are perfect in my humble opinion.

highly trcommend it.

I like Patricia Wells' recommendations. Still, I like to cross reference every kind of recommendation when possible. When I find a restaurant recommended by Patricia and Sandra Gustafson of "Cheap Eats in Paris," I know I'm in heaven (especially when they talk about the same dishes).

Her Food Lovers Guide to France is very good, also, and again, for more than just the restaurants. Lots of info re the daily markets, etc.
|
use it every time i go to paris, every single recommendation was stellar

Another fan here. Besides the reviews, the best thing about the guide is the dictionary/glossary of food terms. I've torn it out of the book and carry it with me at all times in French speaking countries. For food in France it doesn't just tell the basics, it actually tells dishes/typical plates, etc. I've never been stumped on a French menu when using this translator.
