Pasta Museum in Rome
 

Have only read one post from 2002. Has anyone been to this museum? Is it worth it? Where is it?

I went 3 years ago with my then 14 year old son. As i like to cook, I enjoyed it and since it's a tiny museum, it didn't take too long. It was worth it for us, when we needed a break from the typical historic places with lines and crowds. I don't remember exactly where it was, but we walked so it is not too far from other things. I do remember that it is in a little side street down a big hill (well, I actually remember the walk UP more than the walk down!)

We visited it this April. If you have the time it is fun and interesting to see the machinery and process in pasta making as well as its history. It is not far from the Trevi fountain between and just down the hill from the Quirinale (mentioned by kwren). The street, Scandeburg, was a little hard to find, but it is on the map you can get at the Tabachi (free). You can spend an hour at most!

It's on via Scaremburg in a building of the same name. Didn't get to visit it, but the family runs a wonderful, authentic Roman cuisine restaurant on the same street. Great food!

Yes, it's right down the hill from the Quirinale, where there are some very nice views of Rome -- including the hunky Italian Secret Service guys who come and go in dark sedans.....:-D

Thanks for your quick responses. We will be in Rome in October. My husband loves to make pasta so think we will check it out. I will include in my trip report.
