Passport Renewal
Was reading my Fodors guide in preparation for a trip to Turkey in April; found a mention that if your passport doesn't have enough blank space left for a stamp, they may not issue you a visa. Even though our passports don't officially expire until March 2016, there is very limited space and our travel agent advised getting new passports. So, the process begins. Glad I figured this out in time and glad the Fodors guide pointed this out.

YES…if not enough space for stamp renew it. Get a bigger one with more pages if poss.

The visa is an e-visa nowadays. DH just got two stamps - one in and one out when he went. Both on pages with other stamps already on them. No visa stamped in the passport.
You need to apply online for the visa, and you can print a hard copy just to be on the safe side, but it isn't really needed. |
Hi PEG,
" Even though our passports don't officially expire until March 2016, there is very limited space and our travel agent advised getting new passports." Lucky you to have almost filled up your passport booklet before it expires. Way to go! :) |
As I said it is an e-visa for Turkey, so no need for a blank page any more. DH's entry and exit stamps are both on pages with lots of other stamps.
He got to see a lot of the world on that passport, far more than I did on mine :(. |
Hi, latedaytraveler! You are so right. Lots of great trips in 9 years.

I discovered a web site where you can order used, dated visa-entry-exit stamp stickers to paste on your passport to show-off. -:)
