Passport Question
I'm traveling with a friend to Paris for one week in February. His passport expires in June of 2003, 4 months after we travel. Will this be a problem? I didn't think it would be, but this came up in conversation and someone said he needs at least 6 months on the passport.
Thanks!

I heard it was 6 months too.

This nifty little website should answer all of your passport questions.
http://travel.state.gov/passport_services.html

Regards,
GWB

France requires that your passport be good for at least three months after your date of departure from France. Have your friend check the exact dates of expiry, but he should be OK.

The French embassy in Washington has a website with this information: ambafrance-us.org. You should probably call the embassy to make sure the website is still 100% correct.

Hope this is helpful.
I may be a little anal, and always allow for the worst, but unless your friend is convinced he's never going to travel again, why doesn't he go ahead and get the passport renewed now while there is still plenty of time?

What if:
He got very ill or there was a world crisis and he was delayed in Paris for an extended time?
