Passport Emergency! Leaving inone Week!!
I hoping someone can help/give advice. My boyfriend applied for his passport 5 weeks ago. He just got a letter saying they needed more info and he had to fill out this form telling them every detail of his life. Turns out the woman at the post office that processed his passport wrote his ID# wrong. Problem is they're telling him, well not much of anything he's been calling every day.
Should he make an appointment at a regional office and go in person? Will this help speed things up?
We leave a week from tomorrow (hopefully

betty - I think he's going to have to hoof to the nearest passport office (not a post office that just processes them but an actual passport office that can issue them). Don't know where you are, but many large cities have them.

Yes, go to the regional office, and as Green Dragon said, have your plane tickets with you to show that it's an emergency. Also bring some passport-sized pictures.
My sister misplaced her passport the day we were scheduled to go to Europe. I took her to the airport, she flew to Seattle, her son picked her up and took her to the passport office. She got travel docs and then had to go to a Kinkos to get pictures. When she returned that night, she had a passport.
It all worked like clockwork!

Contact the Passport office before you go - just don;t turn up. they usually have appointments at specific times - and random people can end up waiting all day - instead of just a couple of hours.
