Sleepless on Sahne Sokak Street in Istanbul

Does anyone know if there is a pharamcy or "Eczane" near Istiklal street? We love the city, the sights, the foods, but the restaurant below our apartment has a band that plays extremely loud music until 5AM the last two nights. I'm afraid the lack of a full night sleep in going to be difficult as the week goes on and I don't want this to spoil the trip.

I am looking for a pharmacy or other store that might sell earplugs to block the noise.

Thanks for your help!

The pharmacies are marked by a large letter "E"

There used to be one close to Taksim Square, across from the french Consulate and one on taksim square across from the entrance to istiklal.

there are a few across from the British consulate old gate at Galatasaray.

There are many on siraselviler Street off Taksim towards and in Cihangir.

Check the "nobetci eczaneler istanbul" site on the web and after clicking the date, click "beyoglu" on list of districts on the left of the page to find out 24 hour open pharmacies on that day, with names addresses and telephone numbers.

hopefully, the music will be only Friday and saturday nights.

You are lucky, "Itir Eczanesi" on taksim square, across from Istiklal Street entrance is open all night tonight. It is also a large and well stocked pharmacy.

Adres : Taksim Meydanı Sıraselviler Cad. No: 9/B Taksim Beyoğlu İstanbul
Tel : 2122444325

i sympathize with you because i actually left our hotel bed on our wedding night 32 years ago and drove ten minutes home to pick up ear plugs because our room was apparently just a couple of floors below the disco in the hotel.

Otherchelebi - I was hoping you would be online tonight and knew you would have the answer. Thank you!! We are in the area called Balik Pazari according to the metal signage above the entrance to the street from Istiklal. It's very lovely otherwise.

Thanks again for your help! Looking forward to enjoying the rest of the week in Istanbul.

karen, if you do not wish to walk to taksim tonight, there are pharmacies much closer to you, across from the walls of the British consulate on the left when you face Istiklal. however, they may not be as well stocked as Itir on taksim.

Hope you sleep better tonight.
