Parma Golosa Food Tours (Worth It?)

I am looking to spend a day in Parma in September and need advice on the highly recommended Parma Golosa Food Tour (http://www.parmagolosa.it/).

The tour get incredible reviews on TripAdvisor (http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractio...a_Romagna.html) but I have reservations and was hoping someone had been on the tour.

My primary concern involves the cost. The cost of the tour does not include any food or transportation. Therefore, I need to pay for the tour, lunch and a car rental which will be a total of 266-286 EUR ($333-$358).

While the seems excessive, I can't find anyone who says even ONE bad thing about the experience, which makes me think it may be worth it.

Help!

Why a car rental?

Tour involves visiting Ham, Cheese and Vinegar plants. You can visit only one, two or all three plants and basically you need the car to get from factory to factory.

The guide goes in a separate car or can come in your car, but you can't hitch a ride with them, I assume for safety reasons. The company offers a private driver for a much higher price or you can take a bus (no thanks) so a car seems the best way to go.

Again, it seems strange, but the reviews are so overwhelmingly positive!

If 270 euro is for two of you, it doesn't seem excessive at all.

Yes I guess it'snot so much, maybe I'll do it!

They say it's best to start the tour at 9 am but coming from Milan I may not be able to get to Parma until 11 or so.
