Parking outside Oxford and Bath on Sundays?

Hello all, our trip is coming up very soon. In investigating parking for visits to Bath and Oxford, both on Sundays, my husband discovered the Bath park and ride options outside the city proper have "no service" on Sundays. Not sure if this would be the case for Oxford as well. Does anyone know of any other options? We aren't flexible on the days as the visits to both are on the way to our stay elsewhere.

We're not too keen on having to drive into the towns to try and find parking which by most accounts is difficult, anyway.

Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

What's the rest of your itinerary? Maybe we can help you find other days to visit Bath and Oxford. Arriving by bus or train makes a better approach to touring both of these towns.

However the Oxford Park and Rides have bus service on Sunday: http://www.parkandride.net/oxford/ht...rkandride.html

We ended up staying outside of Bath over a Bank Holiday weekend to save £££. Like you, I was a little anxious about parking.

I found that the parking by the Cricket Field (east side of town) was very convenient to get to and then a short walk into the historic center. It was not cheap though (£15/24 hrs).

Alternatively, you can try:

You can easily drive into Bath on a Sunday and find paid parking in several areas.

For Oxford, you can use the park and rides. Most of them have limited hours on Sundays (I believe 9AM to 5PM)

"Most of them have limited hours on Sundays "

Not quite. The car parks operate 24 hours a day, 365/366 days a year. On Sundays, the first dedicated direct bus into town is around 0830: the last back around 1800 (though those hours are currently extended a bit this summer till Sept 9). But all 5 P&R parks have conventional bus stops 100 yards or so away, served by slightly slower (but even more frequent) city bus services from around 0500 till around 2300 on Sundays.
