I highly recommend market days at Rousillon and Apt. They were my favorites.

We stayed in town at L'Hotel, Atelier des Images and it has its own car parc.
round the first week of September, there is the yearly festival of artists.

Well, I did a lot of vaguely obsessive researching online -- (I think being vaguely obsessive is the only way to plan these trips) -- and rearranged our dates because I loved the idea of being able to go to a restaurant and walk back to the hotel...so I booked Hotel Gounod when it was available. Do I get a discount if I sing an excerpt from one of his operas? Thanks to everybody, again, for advice.

We visited the Luberon villages as well as Apt and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.

Also Les Baux, Orange, Chateau Neuf du Pape, Avignon, Pont du Gard, Uzes (a really nice town and not so touisty).

We would have loved to explore some more, but this just gives us another chance to visit Provence.
