Parking in Rome
Does anyone know if overnight parking is allowed near or on Via Giulia in Rome? Or is there a parking garage nearby?

Mappy.com shows a parking lot:
Gepa Sas Di Anna Maria D'Angelo 2 Via di San Filippo Neri 00186 Roma Phone: +39 (0) 66 86 56 61 |
There is no non resident parking on Via Giulia. The lot mentioned in the above post is just that, a parking lot, not a garage. Many parking lots do not allow overnight parking. If you are renting an apartment near Via Giulia, check with the landlord about suggestions on where to park.

I don't know what your itinerary is, but have you considered not renting a car for your time in Rome?
The traffic is awful, getting around can be confusing because of the changes in street names, and any parking in that area is going to be VERY expensive. Most people who have been to Rome before will advise you to walk, use public transit, or hire taxis to get around in Rome. Charnee |
Thank you all for responding to my question. I agree with Charnees coments about getting around Rome. We will only rent a car to go to Tuscany and will need a place to park in Rome just for one night when we return to Rome before going to the airport the next day. I will check with the landlord ragarding parking also.

I would turn in the car in Orvieto (1 hr. by train from Rome), then taxi to your hotel. Or someplace just south of Rome if coming from that direction. Hire a car for the trip to the airport the next morning. By turning in the car early, and not at the airport, you will save money on the rental, so the cost will not be a problem for the Rome transportation. Plus you won't have to find your way to the airport and the car return the next morning and you will be taken straight from the hotel to the check-in area.
