Parking in Florence

Hello. We will be spending a day in Florence on July 3. Arriving with our rental car from the west on the SS67. We have pre-purchased our tickets to see "David" and would also like to spend some time seeing a few other sites. Looking for advice on the best place to park our car. Thank you in advance!

If you are mobile then park at Piazza Michelangelo then a walk down the river usually makes sense.

The view from the car park is spectacular.

In July a lot of tourists staying in the Tuscan countryside have the same idea you do so you need to leave early in the morning to avoid traffic and find a space in the closest parking options. Also, you have probably already heard about ZTLs, but if you haven't, you need to read up on them. If you encounter a full lot, you don't want to be heedlessly driving around Florence looking for space. You could end up with an exceptionally enormous traffic fine.

If the number of sites you want to see besides David isn't a lot, you could consider parking your car in Pontessieve and using the train to come into the center of Florence.

What sandralist says is absolutely correct. Get there early and park outside the City. Parking is better marked in Florence than many other cities.
