parking at the airport vs. Borghese in Rome

Okay, I have almost talked myself out of going to Rome because of stress of parking our car rental. Should I park it at the airport in long term or at the Borghese parking garage....or somewhere else easy to get to outside of the ring? We are staying in a hotel near Spanish Steps on Via del Corso. I need to leave it parked for three days while we see Rome. I have read several posts on places to park but which of these would be least stressful to get to and the car be safe? I have talked with 5 travel agents and all they said was don't drive in Rome.....like I haven't read that everywhere!!!! Please help relieve some of my stress!

Borghese. Hands down. You will need a cab to and fro, with either choice. $5-10 versus $35-45.

Best wishes,

Rex

But....if you are REALLY afraid to drive into Roma, so much so that you would cancel visiting there, park at the airport and take the train into town.

Thanks Rex and Sea Urchin...I don't know that I am afraid to drive into Rome as much as everything you read and 99% of the people you talk to tell you not to. I figured(I hope I'm right, Rex)that the Borghese wouldn't be too hard since it is at the northern end realatively close to our hotel, am I correct? Rex, could you give me basic directions on the best way to get to the Borghese garage?
Thanks, Debbie

We drove into Rome to the Villa Borghese underground parking garage (it is immense!)for three days in a row from our Holiday Inn Hotel in the suburbs. Had no problem with traffic coming in from the north around 10am.
As I recall the garage is close to the Via Veneto & not too far from the Spanish Steps.
