Parker Villas
Recently returned from Florence and stayed at one of their apartments. It was clean, spacious and well appointed. Problem we had was the CSR, here in the states, that took care of us. Their default check in is 4:00 PM local. We asked for an early check in and was told that it was impossible - no can do! We offered to pay extra. After all, all we wanted to do was drop off our luggage. We were arriving in Florence at 12 noon and didn't want to lug our luggage around for 4 hours...pretty difficult on foot and particularly after being up all night. Anyway, it was not possible according to her. We spent our two weeks in the place, actually happily until we were ready to check out and were told that the people coming in that Saturday had an early check in. I asked if they had rented from someone else and was told, "No, just Parker Rents this apartment" Our young lady in Florence couldn't understand why they had refused us, when, according to her, it was quite common to accomodate clients that way. When we returned home, I wrote a letter to the owner of Parker, Mario SCalzi, and asked that he contact me to explain whey this happened; why others had been accomodated, but we weren't. He has, to date, refused to answer my request to speak.
They are now off my renter list for Italy.. indeed unfortunate, as we go every year. For the life of me, I don't understand why he would speak with us or push away a customer with this type of treatment. So be it, we'll rent from others. The landscape is littered with apartments and villas in Italy. |
