ParisPourri - New Immigration Museum Opens

It's not everyday a major new museum opens in Paris so Tuesday's opening of the new CITE NATIONALE DE L'HISTOIRE de l'IMMIGRATION museum in eastern Paris highlighted this major new cultural institution.

don't know much about the place so if anyone goes there please report.

PQ - I think it was mentioned to you before that using "pourri" without the "pot" conveys a very different impression to a French speaker from what you probably intended.

In this context, so far from making a play on words of doubtful amusingness, it actually verges on the inflammatory.

There's a certain justice in having a museum of immigration located in what had been the museum of the colonies.

That said, I do mean to go sometime. I can't wait to use the new St Pancras Eurostar terminal, which sounds very impressive, and it would be interesting to compare French and British museums on similar sensitive themes.

They had an item on NPR morning news today about that museum. It sounded interesting. Maybe you can go listen to that NPR clip on their website.
