Paris: World's Finset Chocolate Shop?
"Many consider L'Etoile d'Or (Golden Star) to be the world's finest chocolate shop. Owner Denise Acabo is known for carrying the creme de la creme of French choc brands. In fact, many of the country's premier brands can be found only in her store; most notably hers is the exclusive outlet for chocolates made by Bernachon, the grandmaster chocolatier of Lyon.
store details: bernachon.com; near Moulin Rouge

My god I had to stop after the first page of their web site which shows pictures their chocolates!
I wish I could contact my god-son who is in Europe right now - he loves chocolate.
I will definately have to order and have delivered.
thanks!!

Oh, be still my heart!
Le cocktail: This praline is a subtle melange of nuts, almonds and hazelnuts.
Thanks for the link, PalenQ. I'm heading to Paris in April. I've just added this to my "daily" itinerary, lol!

I have a question, I noticed on Bernachon web site under the tab "contact" they Mentioned Schefenberger chocolate.
do you know why? Does Bernachon sell to Schefenberger or vice versa?
I like Schefenberger chocolate here in the states, but have also heard they are selling out to another larger corporation.

Yes, I have been there, in 2004, I even mentioned the place here on Fodors a couple of times. It's a wonderful and unique place. Denise Acabo is an unusual shop keeper. I had her gianduja chocolate bar for lunch that day. Superb.
And you have the lovely Musée de la Vie romantique very nearby, with its beautiful little garden.
