Hi Tentek, Could you send me the information for the studio? I found an apartment in the 6th right near the Luxembourg Gardens, but it's on the fourth floor without an elevator, so maybe it will be a pain with the stroller. Otherwise it sounds great, the location seems amazing!!! Our other option is an apartment in the 7th near the Eiffel Tower. What do you think?

I think that you are going to be carrying your 10 month old (while carrying your stroller) trying to travel around Paris-stairs,using the Metro, taxis, etc. so be prepared.Your child is too young to enjoy the parks or museums. If he is just starting to walk, you are hitting the difficult stage where they don't want to just sit in the stroller or on your lap in the airplane.
I speak as a mother of two who are grown and an international flight attendant who has seen how difficult it is for parents on my flights at that age-not a baby but not a toddler .Have fun and good luck!

Here is the info for the studio: http://www.airbnb.com/users/show/748924.

Johann was very nice when I communicated with him, even when I canceled the reservation. By the way, you may want to consider a backpack carrier for your 10 month old. It will be easier than a stroller in the metro. the 7th arr. is great too, near the Eiffel tower. Rue de Buci is nice with restaurants and stores. I am not an expert on the 7th, but Rick Steves recommends it highly.

Fourth floor means the 5th floor as they count the first floor as ground, the second as first , etc etc. I would not even consider a 4th floor without an elevator,, also stairs can be narrow, or spiralling, not cool to carry up a stroller at all.
Stay in 5th( Latin Quarter) or 6th ( St Germain) that makes you pretty central and there are pocket parks all over the place anyways,

BTW I hated that Adam Goptik book, he certainly has some strange perceptions.

When we rented an apartment in the Marais, the stairs were narrow circular ones and a bit slippery. After one try going down, we decided it was safer to stick to the elevator. I'd hate to have carry a stroller (with the baby?) up and down those stairs.

You seem to be asking about a trip in the very near future. Is that the case? I think people here might help you find suitable lodging if you'd give the dates of your trip and your budget for lodging.

Justine in Paris, why didn't you like Adam Gopnik's book? I haven't read it but I am intrigued by it.

I read Adam Gopnik's book after you all suggested it. I liked it especially the parts about the Tuileries gardens merry-go-round and the Waldorf Paris swimming pool. It's just all so outdated that its kind of funny. It's a good time capsule of Paris in the mid-90s for sure ! Seems to really capture the time but now be very dated so some things are funny, political stuff etc.. The whole chapter about saving his favorite restaurant was boring and outdated - No Facebook and twitter campaigns! Ha . Thank you for suggesting a well-written book that paints a nice picture of Paris though, i really enjoyed reading it! Any others to recommend?
