Paris with 14 year old
 

My 14 year old daughter and I will be ending our holiday in Paris for 2-3 days. We are fortunate enough to have seen the main tourist sites on previous visits and so we'd like to just relax a bit. I'm looking for something that would appeal especially to a 14 year old girl. She loves to shop but won't have much money. Which are the best markets for clothing? She also loves to cook so an inexpensive cooking class would be brilliant. What about a special afternoon tea somewhere? Any thoughts? I know there have been previous posts about Paris with teenagers but can't see what I'm looking for. Thank you!

St Ouen, the biggest of the Paris flea markets, has lots of vintage at various price points. Not sure which of the street markets have clothes as I'm usually looking at the food. If anything like my local market, most of the stuff is not French and pretty cheap and nasty. But, I'm a long way from Paris.

There is a free fashion show every Friday at 3 PM at the Galeries Lafayette store. Reservations are required.

The hot chocolat at Angelina's is wonderful, but beware of the stale pastries in the afternoon.

For a special afternoon tea, had to a branch of the great tea-maker Mariage Frères. Another possibility: Ladurée, where you can sample the various excellent pastries and the famous macorons.

Make that macarons, which are not macaroons, BTW.

My family enjoyed the Catacombs - not sure if you have been on another trip... ? It is generally something teens find interesting.

We had reservations to the fashion show Nikki mentioned - missed due to a flight delay - my 16 year old still talks about "missing the fashion show in Paris" ...your 14 year old might enjoy that as well.

Our teen enjoyed looking around in some of the designer stores such as Chanel, as well as taking the baguette baking class at La Cuisine. She also enjoyed having her own (small) glass of wine at meals, and eating Italian food in Paris. We went to Il Pescatore (on Rue des Ecoles) one evening simply because it looked cute, was obviously popular, and was near our hotel, and it was wonderful. Quite possibly the best pizza we've ever had, and it was very reasonably priced. She also really enjoyed seeing the Eiffel Tower light show from the Trocadero vantage point, but it sounds like maybe you've already done that.
