Paris - winter 2009 photographs
Hi All,
After relatively long break in our travel schedule, we managed to get out for a few days and go to Paris. We spent a tremendous weekend there. The weather was fantastic - beautiful sunshine for three days and a little bit of snow and rain for the fourth day. Anyway, as always, I came back with some photographs, which I would like to share with you. You can find the whole gallery here - http://www.pbase.com/olegis/paris_2009 Have a nice day and enjoy :-) Oleg C. www.Olegis.com |
What a nice virtual tour of Paris! I particularly like the night shots.
|
Wonderful pictures!
|
Lovely pictures. Thanks for posting them.
|
Oleg -
As is so often the case, your photos are beautifully composed and rendered. I'm jealous! Sam |
They are breathtaking. Your night and interior shots are WOW! Are you professional?
|
6.5 out of 10 in my opinion.
|
I just love the lighting and the feel of the shots.
thanks for sharing. |
I'm always interested in any shots of my favorite city.
Your photos and the way you have displayed them are right up there with the best. Bravo! |
LOL - I love CRW_8161.jpg. The expression on the woman's face is priceless and I've always been partial to portrait-style pictures.
To illustrate the point, you can check out some of my pictures from while I was in Afghanistan: http://www.flickr.com/photos/smileda...7601736200002/ I'll also be practicing some photography (admittedly amateur) while in Paris in a few weeks. You take lovely pictures - any tips? |
Those pix were amazing-- thanks for sharing. It was like redoing my trip in December/January all over again!
|
Thank you so much for posting your wonderful photos. I really enjoyed the break from my workday. I will be in Paris in April and cannot wait to be there. Where is the neon painter's palette located? I love neon.
|
Hi Oleg
Thanks for the great pictures. We leave for Paris on Saturday! |
Thanks all :-)
avalon - I'm just an amateur bitten by the photography bug. SmileDarling - I loved your Afghanistan portfolio. The only tip I have is - to bring as much memory storage as possible :-) roadlesstraveled - the neon lights are located on Montmartre. They are much more beautiful "in person" than on photographs. |
How did you shoot the arch at the Louvre with the Eiffel Tower beam frozen in 1 spot? I assume you used a time exposure, but how did you freeze the light?
|
That picture was shot at 1/40s, which was quick enough to freeze the light :-)
|
Thanks Olegis, it looks like a trip to Montmartre after dark will be added to my itinerary!
|
You should definitely visit there after dusk, along with the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur and the view of the night Paris - it's unforgettable.
|
You've got some very good pix there, OC.
Thanks for sharing. ((I)) |
Where is shot number CRW_8253.jpg? I don't recognize it, but would love to find it at night next time I'm in Paris.
Your pics absolutely look professional. I like the couple shot just before the one I asked about above. Her expression is amusing. Did you ask permission for the shot after? Doesn't seem you could have asked before or you wouldn't have had these terrific, natural expressions. |
