Paris wine tasting

I am brand new to Fodor's and am looking for info on wine tasting in Paris. Viator has a sight, has anyone used them or does anyone know of another sight that offers evening wine tasting? Merci!

Check out Bercy City of Wine or whatever they call it

old wine warehouses have been converted to wine tasting bars - i've never gone in but have seen them from the outside.

Note: as a newby to Fodor's you need not repost your original post when it sinks into Fodor's Black Hole but just 'ttt' or taking to top or 'topping' - i'll show you after i post this.

Recently there was a thread on wine bars:

I did a search on "wine+bars" using the search engine above.

Hope this is what you are looking for.

This may be a very stupid question and I apologize if it is, but do the wine bars do flights of wine? I enjoy flights because I can try "samples" of several different wines.

They have some special day or event with a wine tasting at the Paris Wine Museum (in Passy). I've thought of doing that for fun just because I was sort of interested in the museum, anyway. I don't really get wine tasting as an activity unless you plan to buy a lot of wine from someone, otherwise isn't it just drinking wine? What's the point of going to some special wine tasting event rather than just going to a bar or ordering wine at a cafe, if you don't intend to be on a buying trip?

I think you can do wine tasting at Lavinia, one of the big wine merchants in Paris. www.lavinia.fr

they have a store on place Madeleine, I believe. They have a restaurant and bar and have "degustations" and is open afternoons except Sunday:

<<Le Restaurant est ouvert du Lundi au Samedi de 12h à 15h30 et le Bar-Dégustation tous les après-midi sauf le dimanche jusqu’à 20h00.
Réservation conseillée au 01 42 97 20 27.>>

Try Le Dernier Goutte in St. Germain area. Wine tastings on Saturday. Great wine selection and knowledgeable owner and staff.
