Paris,what to do

My wife, daughter, and mother will be in Paris for 3 days. What is a must do while they are there?

How old is your daughter (toddler, h.s. student, adult?) and what are their interests? Art, shopping, history? Are they all first timers to Paris?
You'll need to provide more info if you want helpful answers.

Go to Destinations in the orange banner above and click Europe then France then Paris and check out the itineraries to get you started. Also type words or phrases like Paris shopping or Paris first time visit into the "Search the forum" box above and you will get threads with much information already available to you. Then come back with more specific questions.

Also type Paris Superthread in the search box above to get a good start as well.

I have lots of Paris guidebooks but my new favorite is Eyewitness Travel Paris which looks like a good one not only for planning but to pack along for the trip.

Buy a guide book. Eyewitness has a good one - Top 10 Things to Do in Paris.

Another vote for "Top 10 PARIS" by EyeWitness Travel - it states at the bottom of the book 'Your Guide To The Best Of Everything' - well, there you go!

Hi blpwwp,
As others have stated, you will need to be mroe specific. When do you arrive, when do you leave, weekday, weekend, are you arriving from somewhere in Europe or elsewhere( i.e. will you be jet lagged first day), what times do you arrive and leave (when you are planning your 1st and last days there, what time do you need to remove from touring to get to your departure point -CDG, Gare du Nord,etc...)

Start with the Fodors guide. What does each person really want to see in Paris, then an itinerary can be wrapped around that. "Must do" for you may not be must do for me :)

You will be surprised at how fast the 3 days will go by, and how long it will take to see things, so it is a good idea to take a swag at what you want to see and when, and then we can help you out.

The biggies are Eiffel, Notre Dame, Champs Elysee, Louvre, Arc de Triomphe. You would be hard pressed to do all that in one day.

Then you add St Chapelle, Orsay, Rodin, Ile St Louis, Luxembourg, St Germain area, Marais area, Tuileries, Seine river cruise...and on it goes

More info please!
