There are dozens of places that rent apartments. Google search for "paris apartments". My wife made about six reservations and cancelations before settling on one that was reasonable and well located. No problem calling Paris with questions if you pay attention to the time. We will be there in the middle of May.

Have you tried vacationinparis.com ?
They are USA based - we stayed with them in December. Terrific service from them, and a great apartment, brilliantly located for us.
We stayed here:

I know it can be difficult to decide but you need you hurry up and choose one or you won't have any accommodation at all given that its not long until you travel. Enjoy your trip, Paris is lovely.

I second bendigo's advise about Vactioninparis.com. We stayed in their Place des Victoires 2BR. They were wonderful. What is your question about the above two apartments. They look fine and in good locations; why are you hesitant?

Thank you all very much for your responses. BarbaraMH the hesitation is as a result of having read some reviews on the various websites along with comments from fellow fodorites. I will definitely check vacationinparis.com

Another recommendation here for Vacationinparis.com We have used this company twice and have been more than happy with their service. We stayed in one of the smaller apartments the first week in February and found that the apartment matched the listing perfectly. Quick response to questions, and I loved having the keys before we left for Paris so we didn't have to arrange a meeting with the owner to collect them.

I also liked the idea of no large security deposit, and the ability to pay for our rental with a credit card(those frequent flyer miles cards are great). I don't work for them I have just been very happy with the apartments we've stayed in and how easy they made the rental process so I recommend them at every opportunity.

Thank you Celticharper. I am happy to say I just found two options on their website and submitted request for availability. For us (Americans) it certainly is a little more comforting that they are based in the U.S. and we could use our Amexcard.

Greetings. I have not stayed at this place, but it has been advertised in ITN for - well, years - and if it got bad reviews, I think the ad would have been pulled. It reads:

Beautiful 1 bedroom, off Champs-Elysees: sleeps 2/5. Safest area, near Presidential Palace. Large beautifully appointed . . . Typical Parisian building, parquet floors, antiques, rugs, marble fireplace, phone, Inernet, CNN. Queen-size bed. Kitchen/bath, washer. $1,395/week. Last minute 20% off. Marie Lefebvre, 4 Weymouth Ct, Newport Beach, CA 92660. 949-433-5110, [email protected]; wwww.parisianapartment-2to5.com. Looks nice - Won't hurt to give it a look. Good luck and have a great time whatever you decide!
