Paris Weather This Week (18 September)
Tell me it's not really going to get into the high 70s (farenheit) in Paris the end of this week. I've been watching the weather for the last two weeks and as of a few days ago, they were forecasting the mid-60s as highs in Paris. All of sudden, I'm highs in the mid to high 70s. Tell me it ain't so, Joe! I was so looking for some cool "fall-ish" weather to walk the streets of Paris this week. (I'm getting on the plane tomorrow to head over.)

The forecast is :
temperatures between 20 and 25 - grey tomorrow, better later. today was supposed to be the worst : we got 18-20 and some rain. |
Well, I don't know what to tell you. today I wore a tank top here. Granted, I was working a bit, so perhaps that's why I worked up a sweat. Still, for those of us living here, it is beautiful, lovely weather! Particularly after the outrageously hot July and sort of cold August. September may be the summer we were all hoping for!
I hope you will enjoy this lovely weather. And don't worry, it does cool down plenty at night, making it very pleasant to sleep with the windows open! Enjoy your trip! |
Hey, tell mother nature to keep that weather around for two more weeks until I arrive !!
|
Hi--just got back last night and it was much warmer than the weather forecast predicted. I wasn't the only tourist suffering the relative "heat." The subway/metro, the theaters, and parts of museums are really warm so take layers you can peel off. Of course, it could be an excuse to go shopping. :)

I think everyone in Paris is sort of trying to figure out what to wear with the weird weather. Today I saw a woman in fur-trimmed, knee-high boots matched with a short-sleeved minidress. I saw another girl in those tailored, knee-length short pants with high-heeled sandles -- and socks. I know what you are thinking...I just live in an area where people make unusual fashion choices, but it certainly is interesting to see what these in-between seasons bring out in terms of average person clothing choices!!

Hmm. So I guess, as with the spring, I should pack for every kind of weather? Everything from shorts up to a leather jacket? I arrive on Sept 30 and have been wondering about this. I get kind of paranoid because I once followed the internet weather predictions to a T, and when I arrived in Munich, the weather was completely different.

Melissa - I arrive on the 30th too and I guess I will just have to take a little of everything just to be safe. I really am keeping my fingers crossed for the warm weather though coming from the Pac. NW where our weather abruptly went from summer to fall.

Barb, when I meet you I really need to shake your hand!!!

September isn't exactly Fall yet. This kind of weather and variation is typical of any place in that type of climate. This is true where I live in the US, also (mid-Atlantic region), it can be very warm in Sept or cooler, and varies every few days. High 70s isn't that unusual in September in many places. This seems a pretty normal thing for Septmber, and one should not be surprised that it is in the 70s in Paris or many other places.

Melissa:
I know it's off subject but some people on the Asia board want to know how to count the number of posts they have made. I remember you telling us how the night of the gtg but can't remember quite how for some reason. :) Help please! http://digbig.com/4myyr Aloha! |
