Paris: VRBO apt. #15502 in Marais

hooray! we've semi-decided to make a second trip to paris, avec famille, in march 2005. (i like to plan ahead :-]!)

since we're familiar with the area, we'd like to stay in the marais, preferably near the place de vosges. just wondering if anyone has stayed at this particular apt.

if so, how is it?

any other recommendations?

thanks!

I'd be interested in any comments on this apartment also!

hi patty,

i saw your recent post on the apt. in the 8th. sounds good, but does look much smaller than this one.

we stayed in the marais before and loved the location. not too busy, not too isolated. this apt. appeals to me based on its location near the place des vosges, as well as the "absolute quiet" part. we'll see!

again, if anyone has any comments on this place, we'd love to hear them.

Hi Melissa,
Do you have a hold on this apartment for Feb 19-Mar 21? I contacted the owner yesterday and he said someone has a hold for those dates and I was wondering if that was you. It does look nicer than the other apartment in the 8th that I'm considering, but we might have to work around their availability. Our plans are not firm yet so it's still a possibility.

On another note, are shower curtains sort of a rarity in Paris apartments? How do you shower without getting water all over the bathroom? :D

not us! we'll be there march 26 - april 2. maybe you'll get it right before (or after) us!

i have heard that, even in hotels, shower curtains in paris are not a definite. in other places, i've used the "hand-held" shower which is attached to the tub faucet. you can usually sit down and wash your hair w/out getting the place all wet.

i can't find anymore info/comments on this apt., but it does look nice, and the owner has been nice as well.

Hi Melissa & Patty,

Our family of 4 (kids 12 & 10) rented an apartment (#7) from RentParis last month in the 3rd. Check out www.rentparis.com. They rent for less than a week and you're not bound to Sat-Sat like some apartments. Some of their apartments crossed post on VRBO.

Another Paris apartment agency mentioned on this forum is ParisPerfect, which is a little more upscale.
