Paris Visite Card

Can I purchase the Visite pass upon arrival in Paris or must it be purchased prior to leaving the US. Also where can I buy it? Thanks

You can buy it in Paris at all the larger metro stations, the Tourist Office on the Champs Elysees. If you just want to use it as a metro pass, you should get the Carte Orange if you'll be there there around Monday to Sunday. For more Paris information e-mail me – [email protected]

If the Carte Orange doesn't suit your needs you might also try purchasing one or more carnets, books of ten metro tickets. They're available in metro stations and are discounted from the single ticket price.

The Visite pass is great, but quite expensive, unless you'll be riding alot.It is more flexible than the Carte Orange which is a seven day pass starting on Mondays. I recall you may also need a photo of yourself to use the Carte Orange.

I bought our Visite passes on the Rail Europe web site. (They send you a voucher that you exchange for the pass when you get to Paris). Here's the link:
http://www.raileurope.com/us/rail/pa...ris_visite.htm

I don't really see the point in buying a voucher you'll exchange in Paris for the pass instead of buying the pass in Paris.
