Nice was my most recent destination.
Do NOT miss Fenocchio, probably the best ice-cream i have ever had. About 85 different flavours (Place Rossetti). For lunch, go to Oliviera (www.oliviera.com). This is run by a LOVELY man named Nadim who gave up a career at Merrill Lynch to pursue his passion for olive oil and cooking. We had a 3 hour lunch there - i will never forget his Carpaccio with figs and lashings of rosé. Simply life affirming! Have fun.

Hi
My wife and I have been to Paris, Milan and Venice and I have posted trip reports and lots of pictures on my homepage www.gardkarlsen.com Maybe you can find some useful information there.
Don't miss out on the Secret intinery tour at the Doge?s Palace in Venice. The view from Campanile was also very nice. In Milan you have to get on top of the Duomo...again the view is great. Just remember that the front of the Duomo is covered at the moment And the ice cream in Milan is just amazing.
In Paris there is so much to see and do..start with Eiffel tower, Sacre-Ceour, Arc de Triomph, Louvre, Notre Dame etc. Hope you will have a great trip...bring good walking shoes

Hello
For Paris and Venice especially you will want a good basic guidebook and a map.
If you click at the top of this screen on Destinations, you will find lots of basic info here at fodors.com on your cities, including suggestions for short visits.
You don't really say what interests you, something must have made you pick those cities in the first place.
Art? History? Shopping? Food?
I have files on Paris and Venice; if you'd like to see them, email me at

sdr, your question is too broad & requires people to do too much work to be fair. On your other post about NYE in Monte Carlo, there are 2 casinos, the American & the main casino. The main casino has very strict dress codes normally. The American less so. If you do a text search here on Casinos AND Monte Carlo (or Monaco) you should find previous threads that discuss the 2.
provencebeyond.com is a good website for info on Nice & the surrounding area. For info for New Year's eve, why not try some google searches like
Nice AND New year's Eve
Monaco AND New Years Eve etc.
If you're looking for a particular place to spend NYE, I'd suggest looking at the Rants & Raves restaurant reviews here on Fodor's and also on tripadvisor.com for Nice & surrounding cities. Sometimes someone might mention they went for NYE. That's how I found a place in Venice for last NYE!
