Paris Vacation Apartments.com-- any recommendations?
 

I am going to be traveling to Paris in Novemeber for seven days. (It will be my first trip to Europe.) There will be three of us, and we were considering renting an apartment as opposed to a hotel. Has anyone used Paris Vacation Apartments ... particularly, the Charles Nodier 1 Bedroom. The price and location seem a bit to good to be true. Thanks for any input!

We rented from them at their Rue Cortot studio. It's in the Montmartre area. We were very happy with them.

We were there in February, and loved the area, especially around Rue des Abbesses and Rue Lepic market areas.

They have some great restaurant recommendations in the area -- Le Restaurant was one of our favorite. ((b))

That rent doesn't look unbelievable to me, about what I would expect. It looks like a nice enough place, as long as you don't mind sleeping in the same room. It sounds very familiar, I think maybe some folks have asked about it before on here, but I don't remember anything specific but I think a few people have used that agency and didn't have anything bad to say. It's cheaper because of the location which isn't the most convenient. It's nearest the Anvers metro stop in Montmartre. I'd say it's somewhat more than 5 minutes from Abbesses, as they claim, about 600 meters. I don't know if I'd stay in that area (next to Sacre Coeur) for my first visit to Europe, and in November, but you might like it.

We actually checked out that apartment building (though not inside) last May. The neighborhood, just east of Sacre Coeur, is charming. Just north of Marche St Pierre (fabric shopping heaven). When we wandered east of the Marche, we were quite relieved when a bus happened along quickly.

I would agree that it's a five minute walk to the Anvers metro station - downhill going - uphill returning! But, it's on a line that requires one or two transfers to go anywhere else.

I, personally, if staying in Montmartre, a spot more convenient to Bus Route 80.

We love Montmartre, and visit a day or two on each visit. But, wouldn't want to "live" there for the entire week.

For 900 euros, you can find a comparable apartment in lots of other neighborhoods. (Do a search here on Paris apartments.)

We have rented from vacationinparis.com for our trip over Thanksgiving week. We rented their apartment called Louvre loft last year. We were very happy with the central location and the apartment was fine. We are staying inthe 7th this time. I love Mont Martre, but it is a place that is more fun to visit than to stay in.
