Paris - triple or quad, October
We need a room for 3 nights, two 14 yr old boys & Mom. We really need either 3 twins or king & twin or 2 twins & double. Looks like Hotel Muguet has king & twin. Anyone know of anything else that fits. Around 200 E. I have other possibilities but can't really tell bedding options from website so will have to email. Thanks.

Hi Betsy - when I was looking, I found that venere.com gave a great filter where you could select 4 people in one room (or in your case 3 in one room). I would then go to their individual websites to find out the specifics. I did find that there were many more options if you were willing to get two twin rooms rather then a quad room. If you are ok with the boys being in their own room (which might have it's advantages as well!) And in the end, I found an apartment which I could get for just the 2 days I needed so I went that route. I have a list of some that I had found that I will post later today (list is as home).

Canada, two rooms are fine if the hotel doesn't have an issue with the boys in their own room. I would be interested in an apartment but really want a good location. Will look on venere. Thanks, Betsy

The Muguet would work for you, I think. I stayed there a few years ago in a triple with 3 beds. The third bed is in a sort of alcove that affords a little privacy.
You might also have a look at http://www.hotel-palais-bourbon.com/ I haven't stayed there but it is often recommended here for families. They have triples, quads and family rooms. Note that the price includes breakfast. |
Betty = The Hotel Palais Bourbon looks pretty good. Any more thoughts anyone?

We stayed at Citadines Apart-hotel - Saint Germain des Pres 2 years ago and loved it. Our room was like a small apartment with 1 bedroom, a living room with sleeper sofa and a small kitchenette. The bathroom was odd - if I remember correctly the there was a powder room just as you can in the door - but no sink - up a few stairs and through the living room to the other half of the bath. Just quirky - but nice for privacy. Excellent location - opposite the Pont Neuf - we walked to the Louvre, Notre Dame (and this was with small kids)and a bakery and brought back fresh bread for breakfast. It was very utilitarian but very clean, the staff was very nice, internet in the lobby and a breakfast (forget how much) in the lobby. I'd have no problem staying there again.

The Hotel Marignan is in a wonderful location in the 5th - a block or so from the Cluny. It has a lot of rooms that are quads and/or triples. http://www.hotel-marignan.com/html/p1_a.htm
Don't know if this is good or bad news - it's a budget hotel. It will only cost you about 100€ - including a decent breakfast - but it's not at all fancy. No TV for example. They did have free wi-fi though. |
I have stayed at the Hotel Marignan. I will warn you that it was very basic. I took a group of teens. It does appear to have been "rennovated" some since I was there (with a corresponding increase in the price.) Not all rooms have private bath and while I had reserved some rooms with that we wound up one short on that.... It wasn't too bad however.

The Hotel du Lys in the 6th has triples that have 3 twins; basic hotel with some charm, super location.
i've stayed there several times, most recent visit in Oct. , '09. www.hoteldulys.com |
We've already booked a triple in the Hotel Bonaparte for summer. I'm really not wanting to move my booking, but on the other hand -- how does the Hotel Palais Bourbon compare? Thanks.

How about two double beds for 102 euros if I remember correctly, continental breakfast included ? St. André des Arts in the 6th. 5 minutes from both Odéon & St. Michel Metros. #21? on the second has a bathtub and the quad on the next floor above it has a fantastic big shower with hot,hot water. Big rooms, big windows looking out onto the rue St. André des Arts. Only real inconvenience=no elevator.

Beeswing: I just noticed your hitching your question onto a post that is almost a year old! Afraid my post won't help your question....you will get information specific to your needs if you post your own question, I think.

Thanks for heads up *blush*! I wasn't the one who resurrected the thread and so didn't notice how much time had lagged since the original post.

You can find apartments for three nights below that price throughout the city.
So it depends on what you want to see and do more than anything. |
