Paris Triple Hotel Rooms - Pricing List - 2004

Hi All! I've been doing some research attempting to get the best available pricing info for my family for an upcoming trip to Paris (we need triple/family rooms or comparable) and thought I'd share the benefit of my price-gathering efforts. Where applicable, I've included the cost of the hotel breakfast set inside parentheses.

I also have this on Word document if anyone needs a copy. Just e-mail me.

Hope this helps all you info gatherers out there!

very helpful.
Are these places recommended in message boards like this one, or tripadvisor.com
I've read good things about several of them like the Champs de Mar, Jeanne d'Arc, etc but several of them are new to me.

Keren Feb 26th, 2004 07:01 AM

Hotel de Blois is a 1 star in the 14th that is recommended in Let's Go and Lonely Planet, and has gotten great reviews on www.paris.org.

grantop Feb 26th, 2004 07:31 AM

Great information - thanks for sharing. We don't require 'family' rooms, but I am keeping your list as a nice group of reasonably priced hotels for future trip planning. Thanks!

grantop Feb 26th, 2004 07:38 AM

Beatchick - the prices you list are in dollars, but I am assuming that you meant Euros? Thanks again for posting the information, it's now part of my Paris files.

Beatchick, a great list. Do you know if any of these have air conditioning?

Beatchick Mar 1st, 2004 09:04 AM

Hey Elaine! I think most of the ones mentioned are from the "Charming Small Hotel Guides" series by the Duncans. I've been waiting to get an updated version of this guide but when I bought one last year it was exactly the same as the one I'd bought a few years earlier. They haven't even updated the prices to euros yet. Oy vey! So, hence the updated list! The others are Youth Hostels that I'd done some research on. These just looked like the prettiest, nicest ones in pretty good areas.

Yeah, Keren, I think I'm going to go with the Hotel des Blois for my family this Christmas. It looks very charming & the cost is extremely reasonable. I love the history of the 14th, too. Plus, they have fax & e-mail access as well as some other amenities we like.

You're welcome, Grantop! I'm glad someone finds it useful!! And, yes, that was supposed to be in euros. Yikes.

Oooh, thanks, Grandmere. I appreciate the update. Cool beans!

Actually, WillTravel, I'm not sure. I'll have to do some checking. Now you've got me started on ANOTHER list!! ;)

add the hotel excelsior i think it was 79e?

Beatchick Mar 1st, 2004 11:30 AM

Jay, do you have any other info for the Excelsior? Maybe the address? Or a website?

Laurie Mar 1st, 2004 08:47 PM

Hi Beatchick,
My family of 3 is staying at the Hotel de France Invalides for 104 Euros per night.
It is located in the 7th arr. near the Ecole Militaire Metro stop.

The room includes a mini bar, and is very close to a grocery store.

Keren Mar 1st, 2004 10:15 PM

Beatchick, how did you manage to get a website for Hotel de Blois? I've searched a lot and couldn't find one. You can also take a look at Residence les Goblins, www.hotelgobelins.com. I haven't stayed there, but it has received excellent reviews everywhere I looked. I was just going to book it for my May trip, but then needed to change my plans unexpectedly (how unfortunate!), and will try to book it for September.

Beatchick Mar 2nd, 2004 07:52 AM

Laurie, I think that's the one StCirq touts on this board. She really loves it. And it's in a really great area. Here's the website for that hotel. It's very reasonable and it has internet connection. Have you seen the bar & salon areas? http://www.hoteldefrance.com/

Ar ar ar, Keren!! I wrote them a letter last week & they sent me an e-mail 2/23 with the link. Like you, I'd been trying forever to find a website. I called them last year prior to my last trip & spoke to madam but it was on a Sunday, she was the only one there & spoke no English. And, of course, I can't speak French well enough to carry on a phone conversation overseas!! So I gave up and opted for the Jeanne d'Arc instead. Needless to say, I'm very happy to have heard from them this year!!

Beatchick Mar 2nd, 2004 11:17 AM

Jay just e-mailed me the website URL for the Excelsior located at 20, rue Cujas in the 5th:

www.excelsiorlatin.com

Pricing for a triple is 92 euros, 95 for a quad & 108 for a suite. Breakfast is 6 euros.

Thank you, Jay! :)

Laurie Mar 2nd, 2004 08:10 PM

Hi Beatchick, Yes, the Hotel de France Invalides is the one that St. Cirq recommends. We are looking forward to our stay there! The website has beautiful pictures!

We stayed in this area last summer, so I know that we will like it. It will feel like we are coming home! Thank you for your comments. Laurie

Beatchick Mar 3rd, 2004 05:15 AM

Oh, yeah, Laurie, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!! :)

WillTravel Mar 3rd, 2004 08:14 AM

Rough Guides recommends the Hotel Marignan in the 5th.

http://www.hotel-marignan.com
This place has rooms for up to five people.

Beatchick Mar 4th, 2004 05:56 AM

WillTravel, thanks for the tip. That is great website. Very informative. I like the style of the place and the location is SUPERB!

Beatchick Mar 4th, 2004 01:39 PM

WillTravel, I just searched all the websites but I didn't see any mention air conditioning. So I've e-mailed them all. If I get a positive response from any I'll post here. :)

WillTravel Mar 4th, 2004 01:43 PM

Beatchick, I should have mentioned that I emailed the Village Hostel a while back and asked about A/C. They said they did not have it, but hoped to get it in the public areas.
