For those who asked about the locations of the restaurants:

Chez Maitre Paul, 12 rue Monsieur-le-Prince, 6th arr (metro Odéon/Luxembourg), phone 01 43 54 74 59, open 12-2:30 & 7:30-10:30. Open daily except closed Sun., & Mon. in August. (can reserve by e-mail at [email protected])

Le Bistrot de Breteuil 3, place de Breteuil (metro Duroc/Sèvres-Lecourbe), 7th arr., 01 45 67 07 27, terrace overlooking Les Invalides, (open Sun)

Chantairelle, 17 rue Laplace (Maubert-Mutualit&eacute, 5th arr, 01 46 33 18 59, a block from the Pantheon, reserve through their website www.chantairelle.com, closed Saturday lunch & Sunday

Allard, 41, Rue Saint-André-des-Arts, 6th arr., 01.43.26.48.23

La Bastide Odeon, 7, rue Corneille, 6th arr., 01 43 26 03 65, closed Sun-Mon, open Tues-Sat 12.30pm-2pm & 7.30pm-10.30pm, can see the menu & reserve through www.bastide-odeon.com

Creperie des Arts 27, rue Saint Andre des Arts, 6th arr.

Creperie St. Germain 33 St. Andres-Des-Arts, 6th arr.

Café Deux Magots, 170 Blvd. St. Germain, 6th arr.

Paul, 77 Rue de Seine (corner of Rue de Buci), 6th arr.

Ma Bourgogne, at the northwest corner of Place des Vosges. Has outdoor seating under the arcades. Specialties from Burgundy.

Hi, Lisa,

Thanks for all of your helpful information.

Quick question: how did you make your reservations at Le Bistrot de Breteuil? Did you fax? Have your hotel do it? Do they have an e-mail? (I sent a fax 3 days ago looking for reservations in September and have not heard anything back yet). Also, is dress casual (khakis ok)?

John H.: I just had my hotel call and make the reservation that morning. I think it's harder to get in on weekends though. Sorry, I don't have an e-mail for them. If you have an e-mail address for your hotel, you can ask them to make the reservation for you -- most of them will be happy to. And yes, khakis are fine there.
