Paris transportation and Michael Osman question

We're arriving (Eurostar from London) in Paris on a Friday. We will be there for a week, so we will want to buy a carte orange on Monday. What would be best to buy for metro/bus transportation for the weekend.

Also, we are spending Monday with Michael Osman, looking at French Revolution and other history/interesting sites. Besides his fee, we will want to pay for his metro/bus, lunch, tip etc. Could someone who has used Michael as a guide tell me how they paid for his transportation. I assume he already has some type of metro/bus pass.

Weekend transport: there are three possible solutions for each day. See which is more economical for you.

Single <i>tickets 't'</i> bought in a <i>carnet</i> of 10 - &euro;1,09 per ride (one M&eacute;tro/RER trip or one bus stage).

If you're under 26, <i>Ticket Jeunes</i> pass for Zones 1-3 &euro;3,20.

For older folks, <i>Mobilis</i> pass for Zones 1-2 &euro;5,50.

Most Paris residents who move around very much already have monthly or annual passes. Unless you venture outside the zones of validity of his pass, I don't think you need to reimburse Michael.

I think the best way is to ask him himself if he needs a carnet ticket, and he'll tell you if he's good for metro transit.

Thanks. Robespierre, where exactly are you? Are you going to be available to answer desperate questions when I'm in Europe the end of March-first of April? Maybe it will seem easier when I get there.

Okay, but it's eight hours earlier here than in Paris. So if you ask a question at 6h00, I hope it's not too desperate, because I won't see it until 13h30. ;)
