Paris transit pass question
 

Hello I was just looking at the webpage for the transit information in Paris. I was wondering if I will need the 3 zone one day pass or the 5 zone. I will be arriving at gard du nord going to the Louvre then taking the batobus from the louvre. I will probably end up near the eiffel tower in the evening and planned on taking the public transportation back to the gard du nord around 730pm, my train for London leaves at 9pm. I plan on using the batobus during the day till it stops running.

The 3 zone is cheaper and I did not want to get the 5 zone if I will not need it.

Also I get back to London close to 11pm are there ususally black cabs outside of the station at that time. I was thinking if I was too tired when I got back a taxi would be easier than the tube.

Forget that - you just need a one-day pass, so buy the Mobilis pass for about 6€. All of central Paris is zone 1, with maybe a pinch on the outskirts in zone 2.

let me digest this some more...
The Batobus isn't covered by any passes to my knowledge... so maybe you really just need a couple of single metro tickets for the segments between Gare du Nord/Louvre, and Eiffel/Gare du Nord..?

Travelnut I was thinking the same thing, but when I was looking online it said that for each stop you need to use a new ticket. When I did the journey planner it showed each way had two segments, so I would need 4 passes, That is why I figured the one day might end up cheaper.

If you really only use the metro twice, you would just need two single tickets. to be on the safe side, a one-day Mobilis zone 1-2 pass would be best, I agree (that is about 5.3 euro and two tickets are around 2.8 total now?). You def. only need two zones though.

What do you mean with each stop you need a new ticket? The batobus has its own daily pass for 11 euro. You can't use the regular metro passes on the batobus as far as I know. YOu don't need a new ticket when you transfer on the metro, if that's what you mean. You do for the buses on the street, though.

That must be what I read that you need a different ticket for each bus. I am glad metro transfers are free. Thanks for clearing up the issue with the zones!

I was told that to get to the louvre from the train station the bus would be easier.

Batobus offers an all-day pass for 7 euro for holders of an RATP pass. So instead of two metro tickets plus a Batobus pass for a total of 13.80, you could have a Mobilis and Batobus for 12.40 euro.

I am probably better off getting the one day pass.

I will be there from 930 am till 9pm so I may end up taking the metro or the bus more than just the 2 times.
