paris train ticket fom CDG

I am arriving at CDG airport.. I am not returning to this airport.. ..I want to buy a paris visit pass (the zone 1-3) ...my plan is to buy two tickets from CDG to Gare du Nord and then utilize my pass for the rest of the trip...how much is the cost of ticket extra (CDG to GDN) and do I have to get off to do this if I want to continue on the RER to the left bank....is this clear??? the difference in zones 1-3 and 1-5 is considerable for two.....and not worth it for a one way..IMO

I'm not going to advise you whether the Paris Visite pass is appropriate for you or not, some other folks probably will or you've decided it is. However, the one-way ticket from CDG into central Paris is around 8 euro, I think. As far as I know, there is no need to get out at GDN whatever you do, as you can use that same ticket for wherever you want to go within central Paris (zones 1-2). Gare du Nord is in zone 1, the same as points on the Left Bank, so you wouldn't save anything by getting out there. So, you might as well just go to your end point. If you want to buy a Paris Visite or any other kind of ticket or transportation pass then, when you get out for later use, you can.

A Paris Visite is almost never the most economical choice. A one-day Mobilis pass costs 5.40€, and the 7-day (Monday through Sunday only) Carte Orange is 15.70€. If you are under 26 and in Paris on a weekend or holiday, a Ticket Jeunes costs less than a Mobilis, and is even valid to the airports (5-zone for 6.40€)!

What days do you arrive and depart? Are you under 26?

To give you the best advice, it would be helpful to know how many days you'll be in Paris and specifically which day of week you will arrive and which day of the week you will depart.

Yes you are right i will come in on sunday and stay 5 nights...ok tell me if Im wrong but the cart orange is 15E....the museum pass is 26E (4 days)and the pass for 5 days ( musee and trans) is 45E...it is a little more but carte orange does start till monday..so I will have to pay for Sundays arrival from airport and I guess take the boat around till sunset ..I will be tto tired anyways I suppose

Seems like i would get an extra day of museum entry for 5 E...bascially sunday if I went with the pass...thats the only advantage...except would the pass be essier

A Carte Orange for Monday-Friday is 15.70€, and the 4-day Paris Museum Pass is 45.00€, so your trip will cost 60.70€ plus the ride from CDG.

You can see the prices of Paris Visite (which provide transportation only) here: http://www.ratp.info/informer/tarif_...e=#parisvisite

When you buy the Orange Card, give the clerk a 1" square photo of yourself (snapshot is okay, it doesn't have to be passport grade).
