Paris Train Connections Lyon to Austerlitz
 

The train from Dijon arrives in Paris at the Gare d'Lyon station. It is noted that the connecting train to Amboise is from Gare Austerlitz and there is a 25 minute walk.

Is this feasible? Should we take a cab? What would be the best way to connect these stations. Are the stations just down the block from each other

Yes within half-mile of each other or less - if you take the most direct way - via the new Pont Charles DeGaulle that goes over the Seine right to Austerlitz - originally there was to be a people-mover on this bridge that would connect the two stations but this was scrubbed - but there is a walkway - go out the southern end of Gare de Lyon and thru the RATP building is the most direct way but any way it's a short poke i do in about 10 minutes tops - because i know exactly how to go.

A cab may take longer as there are often lengthy queues at Lyon for the cab.

If it's a Sunday check to see if Austerlitz trains are diverted to Lyon station - this has been the case occasionally in recent months due to the near complete renovation of Austerlitz now ongoing and occasionally train departures from Austerlitz are diverted to begin from Lyon - you should be so lucky!

If you do decide to take a cab be ready for possible ugly taxi driver glares since the distance isn't very far. I'm not saying don't do it..just be ready!
