Paris toilets FREE soon!

On Feb. 1, Paris plans to begin converting its more than 200 self-sanitizing public toilets to work for free, mayoral aide Pierre Serne said Thursday. They currently cost 40 euro cents (about 50 cents).

Hopefully then gendarmes will crack down on the wine bags that openly relieve themselves on streets - last December i saw a wino urinating a gusher right near the sidewalk full of folks and just behind the pay toilets, which no wino will waste 40 euro cents to use as that money could be put to better use.

Or perhaps les clochards will avail themselves of the high-tech facilities? One can hope...

If the toilets are free will they be as clean as they were when you paid?

- How many days will I need to visit the toilets?
- Are there any must-see toilets?

Should I wear black to the toilet? Are tennis shoes okay?

I don't get it. They charge 40 cents for peeing in the streets?

While in San Francisco "public urinating" is illegal, I kid you not, this what our stupidvisors came up with, maybe it will make sence to charge our locals and visitors to raise some money for the city?

The 40 euro cents was the fee for using the automatic toilets, not for the street.

Black is suitable attire for any visit to the toilet. I think this should be an exception to the no-tennis shoes rule. Personally, I wouldn't dare wear any type of shoes without a rubber sole. God forbid that one should slip and fall onto that floor.
