Paris to Strasbourg..day trip?
 

Has anyone gone to Strasbourg for the day from Paris? I will be going in late November...early December and would like to see the Christmas market.

according to the sncf website, there is no tgv going there, so it will take between 4 and 4.30h to get there!(:| are you sure it will start in november?

I wouldn't -- it's 4 hours each way from Paris until the TGV starts running to Strasbourg sometimes around 2007. I'd spend the night -- it certainly is worth it!

We traveled from Paris to Strasbourg. As mentioned it was a 4 hour journey by regular train, not a TGV. No way would I recommend a one day trip. Not only because you would spend 8 hours total traveling on the trains, but Strasbourg is a beautiful city that you should take some time to visit. Since you will be there for the Christmas market that would be even more reason to stay longer.

It is for sure an overnight trip. We have driven there so I dont really know the train stuff but the trip is worth it if you can go. 8 hrs on a train in a day would not be worth it.
