Paris to Prague...fly or train?

Hopefully someone out there can help! Is there such a thing as a high-speed "night train" from Paris to Prague, or is it best to simply fly between the two cities? (The European train web-sites are not so helpful.) This October, my husband and I are taking a 10 day "last hurrah" Paris/Prague trip before starting a family and want to maximize our city time and minimize our travel time. Thanks!

There is no direct train Paris to Prague, and there's no high-speed train service to Prague.

The train that makes the most sense is the night train Paris to Frankfurt (22:55-7:02), and then connect via Dresden to Prague, arriving 14:23 the next day.

If you want to minize travel time, fly.

According to whichbudget.com, you can fly from Paris CDG to Prague direct on smartwings, one of the budget airlines. This might be the way to go.

The best times for a train trip from Paris to Prague are in the vicinity of 13 hours 30 minutes. There is a night train that leaves Paris at 16:52 and arrives in Prague at 8:15. There is one change at Frankfurt.

I don't know where you get your train schedule information, but the German website for die Bahn at http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de lists 11 connections that you might consider. It gives full details including all changes and train numbers.

The Swiss system at www.sbb.ch gives the same information. So does the Austrian system at WWW.ÖBB.AT or WWW.OEBB.AT if you cannot make umlauts.
