Paris to Oslo - train or flight?

Hi All,

Wanted your opinions on this. Is a train journey from Paris to Oslo worth the time it takes? I like train journeys while my fiance is for flight and hence the confusion :) We are planning for a trip in the beginning of Sept 2001. Any opinions would be welcome :-)

Cheers,
Anita

Would the fact that your best travel time from Paris to Oslo by rail is over 22 hours have any impact on your decision??
You also change 3 trains 3 times.
It might be a fun trip, but 22 hours on the train is a long trip. You might consider making a 3 day trip out of it and stop along the way to see the various sights in Hamburg and Copenhagen.

I agree. Take the plane. Both Air France and SAS have direct flights. Air France may give you slightly better deals than SAS. On the other hand, with SAS you are entitled to a 24-hour stop-over in Copenhagen if that might be of any interest.
Bjorn, Oslo
