Paris to Normandy

Hi All,
My husband are thinking of spending a week in Paris in April and I know he'd love to see Normandy. What's the best way to plan a day (or overnight) trip? I don't think we really care about renting a car and driving ourselves.
Thanks.
Betty

We did not want to stay overnight or drive ourselves so we took an all day tour that stopped at the beaches, the american cemetary and caen. It was a mini-van and was a very worthwhile experience.

Thank you.
Do you remember the name of the company you booked it through?

We did a daytrip from Paris to Normandy with www.paris-trip.com. It was the highlight of our two week trip (one week London, one week Paris). Our driver was Lionel and he was excellent! He has travelled all over the world and was extremely knowledgable in French history and current politics. His own family story is quite interesting.

He kept us entertained and informed the entire trip, despite the long drive. It was in a minivan that held 8 people.

He picked us up right at our apt. at 6:30am and were returned to our apt. a bit before 8pm.
We saw Ponte de Hoc (Omaha Beach), the new and old memorials, the American Cemetery, Arromanches and the mulberrys, and the Caen Peace Memorial.

If you take the train from Paris to Bayeux, you can't get to Bayeux in time for a full-day tour. Overlordtour (www.overlordtour.com) offers either morning or afternoon half-day tours as well as full-day tours. For a full-day tour, take the train to Bayeux and stay overnight. See www.battlebus.fr for suggestions on where to stay as well as information on their tours. See www.bahn.de for train timetables.

I meant similar to the trip by jjg.

Of course you might not be talking about other parts of Normandy and I suggest you look at search of Fodors and there would be enought to keep you readingfor days. Day trips from Paris would be a good area.
