One big advantage of trains (throughout most of the world) is that you get to see the "back door" view of many places.

Sometimes it's good, other times it's bad - but it's never not interesting - even if you just want to find out what people have in their back gardens

Took the train a few years ago.

Didn't see anything interesting until it started heading east and you saw some coast line west of St. Tropez.

It's you're time. If you can keep yourself entertained or 6.5 hours, that's fine.

But if you could arrive faster at your destination and have more of the day to look around, that might be good too.

Yeah don't forget the transfer costs to and from the airports.

Hmm... When I said "see" the countryside, I actually meant that sightseeing and possibly having lunch/dinner in the countryside is of more interest to me, anyway, than "seeing" it from a train window. Plus you have a very short trip to begin with. But to each his/her own!
