Paris to Marseille, 5 nights by car
 

Hi,

I will be driving from Paris to the Marseille area and have 5 nights to do it.

With friends in Bordeaux I would like to spend the night, but open to all suggestions.

What would be some recommendations for the journey,

Loire Valley, Dordogne, Carcassone are some of the places I have singled out. Is this doable in 5 nights, definitely aiming to drive more west then central France.

With only 5 nights between Paris, Bordeaux, and Marseille - I think you'll spend more time "getting there" than "being there". I would choose 5 nights in just 1 region, and stay put.

If your Paris, Bordeaux, and Marseille locations are "cast in stone", I would take the TGV from Paris to Bordeaux, visit your friends for 1 night, pick up a car, then head to the Dordogne for 4 nights. Then spend most of the last full day in the Dordogne before heading to Provence for your 7 nights.
