paris to london
We need to travel from Paris to London, and my son would like to take the hoovercraft. Researching prices of trains to and from the hovvercraft, the fares seem to be very expensive. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about this in a economical way? Thanks Marian

Hi ms,
>Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about this in a economical way?< The most economical way is a one-day RT fare. See both www.raileurope.com and www.eurostar.com (select UK as your country) and compare prices. ((I)) |
As of October, 2000, there is no longer any hovercraft cross-channel service. "Hoverspeed" uses regular old floating catamarans and (I think) hydrofoils.

There are no hovercraft operating between France and Britain. A company called Hoverspeed runs fast catamarans between Dover and Calais (www.hoverspeed.co.uk). Ships on the same route are run by Seafrance (www.seafrance.co.uk) and P&O (www.poferries.com) and are much more comfortable and more frequent. Fares from Paris to Calais and from Dover to London are normal train fares.

Thanks for your help, we ended up booking with raileurope. ms
