Paris to Frankfurt in 3 days
 

I plan to drive from Paris to Frankfurt in April over 3 days via Luxembourg, Strasbourg, Heidelberg. Any suggestion as to where would be the best place to stay the night(s) between Paris and Frankfurt?

Trier or Cochem might be nice. On the Mosel river valley.

Aachen is a charming town to visit; its specialty is gingerbread figures. There are a number of nice hotels both in and around.

Given your itinerary, I would skip Luxembourg and go directly to Strasbourg, with an extended lunch stop in Nancy. Do some sightseeing in Strasbourg the following morning and go on to Heidelberg for an overnight stay, and then on to Frankfurt.

Thank you for all the replies. In fact I am doing the trip over 31/2 days/3 nights. Any other suggestion?

If you have the time, you might enjoy the <i>route des vins</i> along the foothills of the Vosges.
