Paris temps in May?

I'm going to Paris next month and I'd like to know how cold it gets at night. Not just temperature---I'd like to know if I need a light jacket, a sweater, whatever.

My husband is 75 and I'm about the same (!)...

I'd check the weather on the internet prior to your departure (www.yahoo.com has a 5 day forecast), but the rule of thumb I use is New York or Boston weather - it's about the same temp wise here as it is there.

You probably will need a light jacket/sweater at night if you are going in mid-to-late May - if later, you may not need it.

Pack one just in case!

Will need to monitor weather a bit more. Right now weather is crappy and cold at night. If this holds on, look for more clothes. Layers work well.

Paris weather is just too unpredictable to.......predict. It may be warm, it may be cool, it may be really cold (one May we had to buy thermal underwear). I would bring for mild but throw in few cold weather items just in case. Be prepared with layers to put on or take off and umbrellas - always umbrellas.
For more Paris information e-mail me- [email protected]

For factual data, which has to be taken with a huge grain of salt, the web sites most often mentioned here are

http://www.worldclimate.com
(statistical averages) and

http://www.wunderground.com
(actual historical data for last year)

Best wishes,

Rex
The best weather sight I have found is:
www.weather.com
Type in the city and you can get a 10 day forecast

Check the current forecasts before you leave rather than relying on historical averages. I was there a couple of weeks ago and it was much colder than it should have been for mid-April. I needed gloves and a scarf for walking around. As someone else said, layers work best.
