Paris Ste. Chapelle ordering tickets for concerts--web site?

I retired recently and in the transition lost the e-mail address of a site that I could order tickets for Ste. Chapelle from the States or at least get an idea what will be playing there Oct 12-17.

Thanks!

I can't help you with the web site but can offer that we attended two concerts last trip, one in Ste. Chapelle and one in St. Julian de Pauvre (sp), very much on the spur of the moment. We saw posters everywhere and simply walked up at the designated time. Lots of available seating in both venues.

It probably isn't necessary to book ahead. They have two completely different concerts most nights (at 7 p.m. and 8:30) You can buy tix at the ticket office - or wait until about 30-60 min before the concert and buy tix from a ticket desk they set up in the entranceway.

I usually just buy them before the concert and then walk across the street and have onion soup or a drink and return about 10-15 mins before the concert. Don't show up at the last minute because you have to go through security and might end up entering after they have begun.

Since you are probably visiting Notre Dame and Ste Chapelle anyway, I'd just walk by Ste Chapelle/Police headquarters and look at all the posters on the fence. You will see all the concerts for the next 7 or 8 days posted there.

you can buy half price tickets at www.fr.lastminute.com (12 euros instead of 25)

go to restos and soirees, then you will see a musique section.. jazz, conerts, etc.

there is a 3 euro booking fee per ticket.

good luck.

Hi Anthony,
I also bought my tickets for Ste. Chapelle once I arrived in Paris. We chose the 7 p.m. performance the last time.
I did find a schedule of sorts on the
www.fnac.fr site by searching for Sainte Chapelle under Spectacles. If you happen to pass by a FNAC in your wanderings, you can also buy tixs there.

Hope you have a wonderful time!

janisj mentions the security to go into Ste. Chapelle. We were there about 1 1/2 weeks ago, and it took us 1 hour and 40 minutes to get through the security. Don't know if that's unusual, but neither of their xray machines worked, so everyone was checked the old fashioned way. By the time I got to see the famed stained glass, I didn't feel the long wait was justified. A big waste of time.
