paris stay

Retired couple 64 & 75, very healthy and atheletic. returning to Paris on September 08 for a three day stay. Paris is our first stop on a 18 day trip to europe. We have visited paris six times in the past and have stayed in Montparnasse, St Germain, and the Haussmann areas. We would appreciate all suggestions for reasonably priced accommodations, in the central area.

What, to you, is "reasonably" priced?

Ackislander Jun 5th, 2015 07:43 AM

What is central?

Apartment or hotel?

$ 100-150 Euro, Central is any where I have mentioned earlier. We are quite familiar with Montparnasse St Germain the Luxenbourg park area.

Well, I really like the Hotel Raspail Montparnasse, if you are willing to go back to that area. If not, why not say so. Did you not like the places you have stayed already? The Hotel Raspail Montparnasse is very reasonably priced compared to similar hotels in that neighborhood. Their higher category rooms are quite large.

But 100-150 euro isn't middle-priced any more, unfortunately, not in high season in those areas. That is quite budget, so good thing you said what you mean by reasonable, I would have thought the Raspail as it's only 185 euro for the double "confort" rooms. YOu could get it for your price in summer when prices are lower, but not September.

We would consider Hotels, B&B, or apartment, and we are not fixated on the areas mentioned. We are familiar with using the trains, however we do not wish to stay outside of the metro area.

okay, here is another place I love and it is more like 150 euro for the superior room, more in your budget. It's near Trinite church in the 9th arrondisement, which is why it's cheaper. This is just a bit north of the dept stores so maybe close to your Haussman area specifications.

Have a look at Hotel de L'Empereur in the 7th. Very clean, well-run small hotel, which is opposite Les Invalides and easy walk to either Eiffel Tower, Musee Rodin or the river & Grand Palais. Lots of good local restaurants too, and a very peaceful neighborhood at night. But I suspect you will have to pay a little more than your budget, as already noted.
