(Paris) shuttle CDG to hotel?

Hi,
I'm not sure if this posted the first time.
I forgot to book a shuttle from the airport to our hotel in the Latin Quarter.
We will arrive in Paris early Saturday morning.
Do you think it's too late to book one?
Should I just take my chances with a taxi?

CAPH52 Apr 10th, 2007 11:16 AM

We used one going from our hotel back to the airport. The guy at the desk said it had to be booked the day before but he called them on Thursday night, we needed the shuttle early Saturday morning. Judging from that, I'd say it's not too late for you to book one.

Why are you wasting time putting this on the internet when you should just either give them a call or send an e-mail. We use the shuttle vans all the time and find their service to be flawless. Also much cheaper than a cab, especially during rush hour.

Any shuttle companies in particular?

SuzieCII Apr 10th, 2007 11:28 AM

What "take your chances with a taxi"?
That's the surest bet.
That said, I got really comfortable with taking the AirFrance bus and catching a cab from there. My cost about 17 Euro's and I didn't have to haul my luggage, except from where the cabbie left it. I was staying in close enough to St. Michel.

Bettina, I wish I could remember the name of the shuttle we used. It was less than two weeks ago. But, as I said, the hotel called for us so I didn't pay as much attention. I'll e-mail my daughter to see if she remembers the name. But, with the time difference, I may not hear from her until tomorrow morning. I'll check the hotel web site too to see if I can pick up anything there.

Thank you CAPH52!

I can't find anything on our hotel web site. But have you tried e-mailing your hotel? They may have a company they always use. Meanwhile, if I hear back from my daughter, I'll let you know.

Be adventurous and take the trains. It is really quite easy, quicker, and less expensive than a taxi - not to mention the sense of accomplishment in navigating your way in a different country. I did this last year by myself. My husband was already in Paris and I got myself to the train and to the hotel with no problem. As I said, it's really not difficult to take the trains.

Bettina,

Try Parisshuttle.com They offer service for about 19euros per person. Have fun!

CAPH52 Apr 11th, 2007 10:14 AM

Bettina, unfortunately, my daughter couldn't remember the name of the shuttle company either. But the one Cinzia recommended is about the same rate.

Another good shuttle company is http://www.yellowvanshuttle.com and the "Blue van" I do not know their web address. Do a search here - not long ago somebody gave the correct addresses
