Paris Segway Tours

Hello. My wife and I are thinking of doing one of the two segway tours in Paris on my wife's birthday as something memorable and unique. (Open to any other ideas).

I'm curious to hear experiences of people who have done either the day tour, the night tour or even both. I'm trying to decide which one would be more fun. We are going in April so the evening one might be chilly.

We are going to take afternoon tea at the Ritz and I am trying to round out a memorable, somewhat splurgish, and fun day for her.

You might want to search this site for previous reports. Just enter segway paris in the search box, and you will get lots of hits.

Four of us seniors did such a tour two years ago on a Sunday, and found it to be simply wonderful. Be aware that it takes over four hours, and can, surprisingly, be quite tiring. You might find yourselves a bit rushed, and pooped, to have to rush back to your hotel to change and then scoot to the Ritz for tea. Our daytime trip also included a stop in the Tuilleries for lunch, so tea so soon after might be a stretch.

I would suggest the daytime tour, as it is a delight to be among the Parisians in the park and have them come up to ask about the machines every time you stop.

We've done the Segway tour three times - always the night tour. Actually, you leave in daylight so enjoy dusk, sunset, twilight, and return after the lights have been turned on all over - just magical! In Paris, the temps do not necessarily drop by much when the sun sets. Highly recommend.

My husband and I did the segway tour (daytime) in Paris this past May for our honeymoon. It was the most fun my husband had in Paris! It was great, though a little awkward when we got to a busy street and had to use the segways on a sidewalk filled with pedestrians - needless to say, they did NOT appreciate foreigners on motorized vehicles on the sidewalk! lol But besides that incident, I would highly recommend it if you want a nice generalized tour. It's great for staking out what you might want to see in more detail later.

The main attraction to the Segway tours is the Segway, not the tour. It's great fun to ride around on a Segway, which helps distract one from the fact that the tour is very light and eclectic on information.

If you'd like to try riding a Segway, this is a great way to do it. If you want a tour of Paris and don't care about Segways, other types of tours are preferable.
