Paris Romance

Looking for wonderfully romantic activities in Paris over the Christmas/NY holiday.

Suggestions?

I have heard you can attend candlelight concerts in St. Chapelle (sp?). Does anyone know anything about this or where I can look to find out more?

David, the following webpage lists concerts in different churches (Sainte Chapelle, Madeleine, Saint-Julien le Pauvre, etc). for the current month.
Try again beginning December.

http://www.ampconcerts.com/

Buy a copy of 'Pariscope', once you're there. You'll find everything what's on during the running week (Wed-Tue). 0.40 €

We will be in Paris in October, then rent a car and tour the countryside for a week or more.

We're leaving open whether to return to Paris before our departure. It depends on what's going on that we may want to do.

Can we buy Pariscope in other cities in France?

This is romance that cost you nothing. Stand on Passerelle des Arts bridge at sunset. This is the pedestrian bridge over the Seine and watch the lights of Paris come on.

I second Bob!

However, I add: go to the boulangerie, fromagerie and wine shop for some bread, cheese, and a bottle of wine... sit on the bridge around 6 or so,...and enjoy a true parisian experience watching the sun set over the river, Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and the Musee d'Orsay with the river boats parting the water underneath you, with a gentle breeze against your face, maybe some local musicians will be playing...you won't be alone in doing it...

We did it last night, I'm still never 'over' doing this with friends...

YIKES! I just saw that you are there in December... I'd add then bring a blanket and wrap up. It is so gorgeous right now, I'm not even thinking December!

Thanks for all the advice. One problem is I found that the ampconcerts.com site is in French - any english sites?

When you go to see the church you will find a ticket table setup beside the front door. They show all the concerts that will be happening that week and you can get your tickets. Very Easy
