Paris- River Cruise

My husband, children (ages 14 and 16) and I will be in Paris for Christmas. One thing we plan to do is take a river cruise (Vedettes du Pont Neuf). I realize this is very touristy but thought it would be something fun and different for the kids. Have any of you done this? Would you suggest taking the cruise during the day or the evening?

We have done it on both trips to Paris. We like doing it at night, the lights are magical. If you book online, you save a good deal of money. You do not have to book a specific day or time. 16 euros for the 4 of you. Enough for hot cocoa for all afterwards.

Oh, and remember, you ARE a tourist! Do the things you want, no one is keeping track of what you do.

Thanks DebitNM! We are very excited--this is our first ever trip out overseas. Thanks for your suggestion on the evening cruise--going to book the tickets now :)

Depending on the weather, and if you're there on a Friday, you (or your youngsters) might be interested in the roller-blade rally:

It always starts near the Gare Montparnasse, but you might find a point nearer where you're staying where you can keep warm in a café while you wait (the whole thing only takes about 10 minutes to pass by). The route's announced only a day or so beforehand:

I've done the Seine cruise several times and love it each time. It's only an hour. I prefer the evening (after dark) cruise.

I've done it at least a dozen times. It never gets old.
